chanchannn: Two. Mistakes.

聖人都有錯.
I have been encountered with various of recent incidents related to mistakes ever since we have came up with the topic of this unit.
Back in the days in Headington, the teachers encouraged us digesting words and raise questions. I still remember my first Geography lesson on glacier, a classmate asked a question out of nowhere: "Mrs Geoffrey, why is snow white?" I rolled my eyes, urgh what a meaningless question. Teachers that I have been came across would have shunned me if I ask things like this. Surprisingly, Mrs Geoffrey answered it throughly in a way that would interest me dig deeper into the core of glacier formation and things other than textbooks. That's how they roll in England.
With my 6 years of education in UK, I have learnt to digest, to ask, to question and to challenge.
Yes and to ask stupid questions.
When I had my first tutorial in uni, I was frustrated and admitted to my tutor how I had a few technical mistakes in my project. "Karen, you know what, having mistakes is good. We are actually expecting mistakes and we love mistakes. It is the process of learning, without making mistakes, you will never learn and we would love to see how you encounter and solve your problems. You won't be perfect in your first year, neither your second nor final year. Cos you're not perfect and never will you be perfect. Mistakes are beautiful cos it marks your learning process. If you're so good that you don't make any mistakes, you don't even need to go to uni, you can simply be my tutor teaching me. And in fact, I'm still learning from you youngsters too." I have to admit I'm the kind who makes numerous careless mistakes and course I looooove this idea of failing and climbing from where I tripped hahahaaa

So it surprised me that it would be offending people when I spot out their mistakes and ask questions upon that.
Wells, that's how their roll in HK. Superiors are always right.

It is my mistake that I couldn't come up with any artwork in this unit. Theres just too many ideas in my head that I don't know where to start with. I like the idea of using tipix, erasable ink pen and cassette tape film as medium. But yea, how shall I start &I didn't have any time to date experimenting... hahaaa...
Mistakes to me are positive motivation for improvement and it is another way of doing things.
One would try and amend, erase or pray to the capital him that time could be reversed, wanting to start again.
But "What is done cannot be undone." - Macbeth, William Shakespeare. At least we could try and learn from our mistakes and be a better person:)))
